I have seen many articles discussing the green supply chain and in every case the articles talk about reducing carbon emissions, reducing the carbon footprint but little about actual ways to reduce the footprint.
Have any of you people out there had experience with this issue and if so please tell us how you have helped in reducing the carbon footprint? We know it is right to do it but we want to see ideas on how it should be done.

Yes, I thought the same. To add to your comments I also think in comparison to transportation the area of warehousing has been especially neglected. This is now improving with new build design, although the actually operation of the warehouse, as opposed to its design, remains neglected. The area that particularly interests me is existing build warehousing and retrofitting (the majority of UK warehousing) and hence I am completing a thesis in this area based upon our businesses stock of existing build warehouses. I am progressing this work at the moment and am happy to share the results with you.
